Hola,

Susan Rose said...

Hola, Paquito.

------------------ English Version ------------------

Hi,

I think there's a sort of conspiracy around my blog holidays... But I have to post this 'cause I think it's important to clarify certain things...

As you well know, on my last post I finally let a nice video, the final scene belonging to "Life of Brian" movie with, I think, the second sifflest song on history after the song of "The Bridge over the River Kwai".

I relaxed: I begin cleaning some blogs from my RSS as I just found out they're useless and, all of a sudden, I received a phone call indicating me I should read a comment someone left me on this blog...

Susan Rose said...

Hi, Paquito. I know it's currently "politically correct" to make fun of Jesus and of Christians.....but you should know that this video is highly offensive to Christians (me and millions more). Jesus went through hours of agony to pay for the sins of the world. This is nothing to be made light of.
Please be sensitive and remove this video.
Susan

Susan Rose has a wonderful blog full of images of nature (it is really nice, believe me): as you read it's a polite person though, in my opinion, she missunderstood the post... I recommend you to visit her blog but, PLEASE, I ask you to please be respectful with her, her blog, her work and her ideas...

To clearly state my position, I'd like to leave below my answer to her comment... Enjoy it... :-)

Hello Susan,

Thank you for your comment. First of all I must notice you and everybody reading this blog I'm opened to critics and suggestions (as you made on last post) but, being said that, I think I have to clarify my position:

1. No. I won't retire that video: "Life of Brian" is a classical movie and that scene is one of the brightest and famous example of Monthy Pithon's humour.

2. You should know the person in the cross is not who you think it is, but Brian... "Life of Brian" is the story of a guy who is taken by mistake as a Messiah... You assumed that guy was Jesus and this kind of things happens (I recommend you to watch the movie: it's very funny, believe me :-)).

3. I never make jokes about religion and/or religious beliefs: I deeply respect people's choice regarding how to spend their time, energy and/or intelligence.. As you should know, there are people who go to a temple to prie to a certain God (Guess what! There's more Gods than yours!)... Others they go to a football stadium and they say "That player is God"... You are in a cinema seeing one movie from Woody Allen and you think "This guy is god in cinema" and, if you allow me the following, some people secretly admit their partners (boyfriends, girlfriends, wives and/or husbands) are gods/godness in bed... I personally substain Charlize Theron is a Godness because of her beauty, but that's a personal belief :-)

After saying this, I would like to ask you to:

1. When asking to someone to remove something, try first to know what it the thing you are watching/reading and why do you really want to censore it... Maybe you'll realize that, maybe, you're wrong.

2. "Christ suffered hours of pain and bla bla bla"... The same hours civil people is suffering in Iraq when your country is bombing them... Do you pray for that people? I'm sure you pray for the soldiers of your country but, What about that poor people dying in Iraq? And what about the people in Kosovo? And the people in Darfur?

3. I do not tolerate religious talibans entering on this place... On this Blog, I stated it very clear when building it, I wanted respect and tolerance for the people participating within... When asking to remove a certain content without even knowing/understanding what that content is a sick sympthon of ignorance and intolerance I won't tolerate (this post is the example).

4. I never wanted to open a religious debate on this space and I won't do it: religion is something too personal and private to talk about it in a place like this... Besides, If I learnt something living in different countries with different people of different races and religious beliefs is that, at the end, religion put in troubles to people and I don't like that...

So, please, next time, I must insist, think twice before writing in a blog if it is politically correct or not insult christians and Christ's pain and stuff like that... Try at least to understand what's what to avoid screwing people's holidays up...

Thanks for your visit and your comment :-)

P.S.: Curiously right now on TV I'm watching Jim Carrey's "Bruce Almighty"... That must be a signal :-)

  2. Hello, Paquito. This will be my last comment to your blog.

I do understand that you meant no harm by by the video. But just because it's in the context of a "classical movie" doesn't make it acceptable. Jesus is not laughing at that scene. And the Christians who really know Him are not laughing. Any view of the cross that makes light of what Jesus did is despicable. Jesus is not "a religion." He is GOD.

I recognize that you don't believe in Jesus being God, but you have refused to be considerate of what I and millions more believe.

You asked your readers to be respectful of me, but you then proceed to be very rude. In the same "open post" you continue to ridicule Christianity, and you then criticize the United States' fight against terrorism.

I'm sure you will make a "smart" comment to follow this post, but I will no longer communicate with someone who is determined to insult me, the U.S. and Jesus Christ.

By the way... Jesus loves you no matter what you say. He loves you so much that He died on the cross so you can have an alternative to hell.

  3. Hum, Paquito laisse tomber!

  8. Hey Paquito (greetings from Warsaw again)
And again, sorry for my terrible english...

I read your debate with Sue... And I must say, that I'm at your side... Monty Python's humour is not "pure and beautiful" for everyone (and that's sad... VERY sad because their jokes requires A LOT of distance to yourself [I'm not sure if that distance-thing make sense in english])

I saw interview with "The Python's" (and Christian clerics) recorded something about week after premiere of "Brians life".
Clecics started judging them, shouting, arguing without thinging and all the mess that arisen in that studio... oh-my-god... Pythons tried to explain, but nobody listened. First and last time I saw Terry Giliam red on his face...

I like Pythons... AND im Christian. And i know that it was FILM. FUNNY, HA-HA...

By the way, do you know that Borat in his film speaks polish? those "jakshemash" to "jak się masz" (how are you) and his "diendobry" is "dzień dobry" (good mornin')?

  20. I'm afraid I'll respond to Susan... directly.

I think you love both God and the Devil, being the second your own country, my dear. You haven't answered to Paquito when he asks whether you pray for the people dying in Iraq thanks to YOUR country. Do you, Susan? Or does fighting against terrorism justifies killing children?
I DO belive in God, but MY God is against all kinds of violence and doesn't understand the difference between killing an American or killing a child in Iraq. Is there a difference for your God. Is there a difference for you?
If there is, pray a lot my friend, because we´ll surely meet in hell.
