Ayer y Hoy / Yesterday & Today

English below (just look for the blue text),

Buenas :-))

----------------- English Version ------------------

Hi :-))

Yesterday was a day that ended badly: I got dizzy in the tram and I could barely get home just to lie on the sofa and not make any move ...

At least I got something good as the evening ended with the first chapter of the season 11 from South Park, and it was BRUTAL :-))

Wha the about the job interview? It was good but I made a small mistake: I thought it was for a job offering (I have indexed everything in an Excel spreadsheet), and after making a fantastic interview I discovered that it was actually for another job position...

There was a moment of confusion: I was able to justify my mistake, recalling the wise lessons, or for some other things, that I have learned in these past few years ...

We will see how things worked but it has a good-looking (the possition is not marvelous but I think they pay well and now that is the important thing).

Going back home (before I had "the incident") was cool: I took for the first time Amsterdam's Underground and while I was sitted reading "Blink" and talking on the phone to give some news, a woman began to observe the book ... I decided (I'm foreign, I am an idiot) to put it closer to her, showing the cover and then, as I was speaking through the phone, we (the woman and I) established a dialogue of gestures, explaining us without words (and making an stress on pronouncing words without delivering any sound) how good the book was...

Upon arrival at Centraal Station, all of a sudden my body asked for a compensation and, as fast, as I could, I looked for a shop where they sell all kinds of fast food and I asked for some fries with its corresponding sauce (that simple and delicious dish of the Netherlands) ...

The rest? It's what I told you yesterday (not much mystery) ...

Today is Saturday, shopping Day! After filling in the fridge and buy some fruit (seems unbelievable but it's true: both in Germany and here I find it easier to buy healthy food than in Spain. I do not know if it explained it before, but, to give you an example (always from my personal perception) here you have to look for the "non healthy food" while in Spain you need to look for healthy food and, beyond that, healthy food is more expensive than here (I repeat: this is my personal perception) ...

Tonight I am going to a party with a couple of special features:

1. You have to wear something red.
2. We'll play to the "anti-invisible friend."

The first thing is obvious, but the second one is a discovery I made here. The game is about bringing a gift (or two) made of things you have at home that no longer serve you (or you just don't use them) for exchange them with other gifts that meet the same logic ... It will be fun :-))

Once I finish writing this, I need to study an electronic payment system: Google Checkout... It's related with the project that I am working now (I have to study it carefully :-))... I have no experience in these matters and the proposed idea is complex (and my head, for more complication, has imagined a method more complex to, however, find the greatest possible simplicity), but I have to try to find out whether the proposed idea is feasible or not (and if so, how).

This is a summary of yesterday and today: life is quiet here but, of course, we must try to see every little event as an opportunity to try to smile (which is something we must always try) ...

I wish you a happy weekend and, of course, keep it in mind, Amsterdam prevails! :-))

  2. Paquito, creo que has ligado...

    "Great minds think alike" :-))

    Salut depuis Amsterdam,

    Paquito.
