Crisis Personal / Personal Crisis

English below (just look for the blue text :-)),

Buenas,

----------------- English Version ------------------

Hi,

First of all, thank you all for your messages yesterday... I feel a little better now but, if you allow me some precious minutes from your time, I will tell you everything that has happened until 17:53 from Tuesday January 22 (the time at which I began to write this) ...

Last time we talked I told you I had a party on Saturday: I went with my next landlady (one reader of this blog that he rented a room in which I will finally live on February 1st) and there I met a group very interesting people who worked for the European Space Agency...

Being with engineers while being a Marketing dude is funny: the truth is that I had a great time, I learned a lot of things, I met very interesting people and, above all, I realized how nice it is to expand knowledge from views that are different from those you may have...

On Sunday, on the other hand (as usual) was "The Project Day" and, unlike other times, this time he had to do some administration tasks (paperwork and management of memberships) ... I loved it, and above all learned one thing: all processes can be improved and the majority of small businesses die from the lack of planning in this kind of irrevelant but overwhelming processes... I'm ill but my head I has already thought of one thing (very very very easy to manage but complex to make) to streamline each of the procedures (including, very importantly, the membership renewals and control of expirations. This, for reasons I can not explain, I must say I'm a master ... Right, Tío Blas ? ;-)).

It was a Sunday brutally long and productive: we left the administration completely updated and I was tremendously useful... Suddenly I realize all the things I have learned and that I am able to do (in particular the speed in decision-making: I am tremendously fast) ...

The fact is that when I arrived home, I started to feel bad ... My stomach hurt and had some pain in the body. I went to sleep thinking that I just need a sleeping cure...

At 7 o'clock in the morning I woke up to shave, wear the costume and run to the job interview... But I was sick: nausea, muscle aches, dizziness and an ear killing me... I got shaved, took my shower, wore my suit and went to the tram through Centraal Station, where I picked up the Metro and I had to support 25 (yes: twenty five) stations to reach my destination...

Up to 3 minutes before beginning with the interview I was nauseated but first of all I am a professional and I could take control of myself as I could and just when the interviewer entered the room all of that pain disappeared (although the stomach was killing me) ...

The best interview of my life: The way I spoke about my life, the way I fit their needs with my profile, the way I handled the times, the way I even handled him ... It was so good that I didn't get the job in the end (I lacked the technical knowledge he was looking for) but, during 5 minutes, the guy entered into a reflexive loop trying to convince himself that he should hire me... "In 4 months I'll need someone like you but right now I must say this job is not for you... You have no technical expertise and we have no time to learn it... But your CV and I love your profile is excellent...".

I never had gone something like this: I saw things like beginning an interview and someone told me that I have a good curriculum, but I was overqualified, that because of this and that I wasn't the profile they were looking for... But never attended in real time to the decision making of a guy regretting not being able to hire me 'cause "in 3 or 4 months I will need someone like you, but with this position I need someone able to operate from day 1" ... It was a very strange feeling ...

So strange that when I came out of that building, a tear ran through my cheek: I've never lived something like that before...

Arriving at the subway station I saw a bus indicating direction to Centraal Station ... I ran to try to reach it but the driver didn't wait for me... In Germany trams and buses wait for people but not here (as in Madrid). So, in that time, sick, sad and tired perhaps, when the bus left the stop, I screamed with all my soul and with a perfect Castilian accent the phrase: "I s**t all over the w***e of your mother!"...

The people that were standing in the bus stop just in front were freaking out: the scream had a biblical proportion and, once I finished pronouncing the phrase, I just put a "really quiet and nice guy face" and I went to the Metro Station...

One hour and something later I arrived at home, downloaded some Podcasts, I wrote yesterday's post and I went to bed... I ate nothing (and I have barely eaten today) and when I woke up (about 18:00) my body hurt...

Today, the day had begun a little bit better: the sun has appeared in Amsterdam and the day has been spectacular. For instance, I have changed a couple of interviews that I have to Friday, and to the next week (so I can recover) and I have gone to an Apple Premium Reseller where I asked about a couple of products ( they loved my shirt: only a few of you may know why ;-)).

I'm sorry about the length of this post: I try to be brief but today I had many things to write :-))

I send you a big hug, I really thank you guys for all the comments and, of course, Amsterdam prevails!

Paquito.

¿Tu hijo sobrevivió a Luxemburgo? Wow!

    Saludetes,

    Paquito.
