"Este es tu hogar" / "This is your home"

English below (just look for the blue text :-))

Buenas,

Yo me quedo aquí :-)"

------------------ English Version ------------------

Hi,

It's today's motto: the phrase that made me smile, the phrase why I went back home having a walk, remembering some curious anecdotes I lived in my life (in airplanes, while traveling)...

Day began soon: @ 8:00 A.M. I was already doing some stuff, focused on the things I had to do later on...

At 10:00 A.M "the process" begun: shaving ('cause I began to look like "Santa", the main character at the Spanish Movie "Mondays on the SUN" played by Javier Bardem), shower and the moment where, with a certain sense of ceremony, I dress up my suit (always following the same order: shirt, socks, trousers, tie, shoes, belt and jacket)...

Around Mid-day I took a tram to Reach Centraal Station, Amsterdam's main train station. From there, a quick walk to my final destination... I already dispose of 35 minutes until the interview so I walked around the place...

13:00. "Hello. Mr. Paquito" "Yep: That's me" :-))

The following 70 minutes are peaceful: a good job interview where the person talks and me too, where she asks me and I answer to her... I leave the place with nice vibrations (I'm not exactly the profile they're looking for the position, but they definitely like my profile)... We'll have news soon (good or bad, but doesn't matter :-))...

Some minutes later, I entered into a snack bar to have a sandwich... Just before order my reward for the good job I did in the interview, a waitress delivers a sandwich to a girl and she speaks to her in spanish...

"Cheers" I say to her into Spanish (FYI: is "Buen provecho") with a big smile while she replies "Thanks! Finally someone who speaks Spanish!"...

Next 20 minutes comes eating and chatting with that person: she came for the weekend with some friends, she doesn't know the city so I explain to her the basis and we continue to chit-chat...

Finally I leave (I have to go back home) and when leaving I wish her a nice weekend here in Amsterdam, saying the typical: "Enjoy and have fun" while the person saysit's been a great pleasure to meet a Spanish here... "The pleasure is mine: you'll be back to Spain on Sunday where you'll meet more spanish, while I 'll have to stay here" I reply to here kindness...

And this is where the phrase comes: "It's true, but, this is your home"...

Actually, it's true: this is my home... Coming back home, walking through the canals has been wonderful: all of a sudden, things have another color, another shape... This is now my home... Some times, while being foreign in a place, you tend to forget that: this is now your home, you're not on holidays or traveling...

It's the weirdest feeling in the world to be described: all of a sudden I realized the quantity of tourists around the place... People with maps and faces that indicate they are lost and looking for a particular placer, people like me, foreignes, but with a main difference: in a short period of time they'll leave, while me, however, I will stay...

Tomorrow I'm going to take some photos (it's decided): on Monday I promised a real illustrated post (and this time I'm going to accomplish it)...

Maybe this is the perfect moment to say "Home Sweet Home" :-)

Have a great weekend and, as usual, Amsterdam Prevails! :-)

Paquito.
