Un día tranquilo / A peaceful day :-)

Something I think it's written into english is below (just look for this color text :-)),

Buenas,

Quizás si no eres español te resultará normal...

------------------ English Version ------------------

Hi,

Yet another day here in The Netherlands, a country where it seems there's no Sun but also where the night is actually confussing (nights here are weird: it's dark but not "dark" as it should be)...

Job hunting day and closing meetings this journey: I have a dinner tonight with a person (initial meeting should has happened yesterday) and, tomorrow, another one to have lunch with a good friend of mine to make a revision to the resume :-)

Curious thing about life dynamic here: everything here works by closing appointments with agenda... Today, for example, the public agenda in charge of the creation for the SOFI numbers (The "belastingdienst") has sent me a letter confirming the appointment for a specific date and time...

Funny thing anyway is that EVERYTHING works here like that: the person which I have a meeting yesterday, established the appointment by e-mail but, because of a technical mistake, I couldn't reply to him just to say "No probs"...

Final result? Meeting cancelled because I didn't confirm it... In the same way I had a meeting today with the person I'll see tomorrow and, exactly the same, as I verbally stated to have a meeting but not being concrete on the terms, finally we couldn't make it

Maybe if you're not Spanish this kind of things can be normal for you... But in Spain, actually, things are different: if I say I have a meeting with you today, I'll call you today in the morning to say: "Hey: we have a meeting today... When and where?" But here things are not like that: everyone here have their agendas... They're very organized and that, being something quite "square", it's also a warranty for avoiding missunderstanding (unless, in case of no confirmation, the meeting will not have place).

Life is calm here: I'm relaxed, like a swiss cow... In these places I like this kind of things: having the chance of relaxing and letting things flow... Here you can really apply Bruce Lee's learning: "Be water my friend"...

I wish you could feel my peace of mind right now... It's been a while since I felt like that :-))

This is the Europe they promised to us: it's cold, the night arrives around 5 PM, people is cold and your family and friends are far away BUT, believe me, you'll have a set of things I valuate more than that: the capacity to feel how tranquility invades you and life turns slow...

That's it for today: Amsterdam prevails ;-)
