Update: Un domingo más / Yet Another Sunday...

English below (just look for the blue text),

Buenas,

------------------ English Version ------------------

Hi,

As I already told you this morning, when changing the RSS subscription system a few days ago, noticing that the blog content distribution takes much longer than before (from a few minutes to around 2 hours today, for example).

I hope you can read this: if so, it means everything's running, late, but running:-))

Day to read newspapers on the Internet, looking at HTML code and listening some Podcasts: I have been reading a little bit how the things are going around the world, which is always a good thing... At the same time, I switched to Windows XP (I have a dual-boot computer with Windows XP and Ubuntu) to download some Podcasts in iTunes and, while doing so, I have been reviewing the blog HTML code to see if it was able to solve a couple of things :-))

Meanwhile, a terrible wind and rain shakes Amsterdam... It is one of the worst days I can remember in my time here: such a pity...

The knee is doing better but something is not going well: I have a constant feeling that the pain is about to begin as yesterday (although in the end it does not): Yesterday I had to cancel an appointment with an old friend (I haven't seen him for years) because I simply could not walk (very sad)... At the end I stayed at home watching "The lives of others" which, incidentally, is a film that you should see if you have not seen it already (recommended by Paquito: You'll love it and to show you I'm right I put below the trailer :-)).

During this week The International Documentary Film Festival has been celebrated here: today I have planned to go to see a Spanish documentary called "Lucio" which is the story of a Spanish anarchist who, many years ago, managed to destabilize one of the largest banks in the world through a package of counterfeit checks (a very interesting story).

At the end, with the "dawn"knee", I could not do anything but to be at home and it is a shame: every day that you stay at home here is a day where you miss to see a very beautiful city... A real pity, believe me.

I am now listening a Podcast episode about the battle of Waterloo called "Los Pasajes de la Historia" which I have been listening for a year (since I bought my iPod :-)): as I am a history lover and I love to listen other languages, I found similar Podcasts in other languages ( "BBC History Magazine" in English and "Histoire Vivante" in French) ...

Before I say goodbye and say "Amsterdam prevails," I would like to ask you whether to listen Podcasts and, if so, which ones: I love discovering new things and things that can bring me knowledge are welcome :-))

It's time now you wish you a happy evening and, of course, Amsterdam prevails!

  3. Hi Paquito,

I just replied to your questions. It certainly wasn't something un-nice:

    "Hello paquito!

What Said about your blog was certainly not 'un-nice' !

    This sentence:

    means:

"I've hidden the google-ads to the right of my page, myself, though I would like to gain some money with 'em" And though it does not looks that bad at all (And there I link to your site!!!!, I decided not to do that myself, because the ads don't belong on a library blog...

That is the only thing i said.

So in a way i said it looked quite good actually, but i dare not to place ads in between my posts myself...."

I Hope i set this straight now?

Not my style to be un-nice, you know :-)

And experimenting myself all the time too!

    Gracias,

    Edwin

  4. Hi Edwin,

Thank you very much for your visit and your comment: as I have told you on the e-mail I sent you, I apologize about the confussion: I used an online dutch translator and, obviously, the result was quite confussing (I understood EXACTLY the opposite).

Because of that, again, I apologize: today I'll dedicate my daily post to you (again, I'm sorry :-)).

Thanks very much again and regards from Amsterdam,

    Paquito.
